Work on badly needed repairs to the roof of historic May Street Church is set to get under way on May 29. The eight-week contract has been awarded to the Downpatrick construction firm of HJ O’Boyle and we look forward to working with them. Funding for the project is being provided by the Listed Places of Worship Roof Repair Fund and National Churches Trust, to whom we are most grateful. The scaffolding will start going up on May 29 and we can look forward to a watertight building come late summer 2017. Our thanks to JCP Consulting of Holywood Road who are acting as project managers.
