Roof work at May Street began on Sunday October 22 with the erection of scaffolding around our building in Little May Street and Alfred Street. This work had to take place on a Sunday because this is the only day in the week that the authorities will permit Little May Street to be closed off. JPM Contracts from Dungiven, who have been awarded the contract, are aiming to complete the job by Christmas. They have purchased 10,000 Bangor blue slates with which to re-roof the church and will also be attending to the flat roofs on the Parlour and Choir Room. Our thanks to the contractors for co-operating with our request for calm during our service on October 22 b taking an early lunch break.
