The final pieces of scaffolding at May Street Church were dismantled on Friday February 2, and JPM Contracts are off to their next project in Dungannon. We thank them for all their hard work. The outcome is that at last – and for the first time for many years – we have a watertight building.
One immediate benefit is that May Street Kirk Session and Congregational Committee were able to use the choir room on February 5 for their meeting – and found it to be a snug, dry and welcoming room. It is the first time we have been able to use the choir room since part of the cornice collapsed in 2016, putting the room out of bounds for safety reasons. Now the damp has been eliminated, the outside wall made watertight and the room re-decorated. All we need now is a carpet!
